    The 5-1/2″ shears

Are meant for precise and clean cuts into the material. They can be used to make relief cuts during the lay-up process so reinforcements precisely fit in the mold. Or cut stubborn threads hanging off the edge of fabric. Or make small cuts for intricate parts. The cutting performance is great across the length of the blade; in fact, the blades cut all the way to the tips for quick and accurate trimming. They can also be used to make relief cuts during the lay-up process to fit the reinforcement into the mold. Cut hanging fibers along the cutting edge of the fabric cleanly. Cut fiber thread off the fiber optic cable neatly when installing connectors.

These shears are ideal for use on small cutting surfaces such as rope, tape, ribbon, thread and cable made from aramid and para-aramid fibers such as Kevlar, Dyneema, Vectran, Technora, Dacron and other materials made from fiberglass and carbon fiber. Its blades are made of high carbon alloy steel from Japan and are infused with Molybdenum and Vanadium (HRC 60~62) through a proprietary manufacturing process to achieve a level of hardness (HV1200) to cut high tech material. It can also be used to cut materials made from carbon fiber, glass fiber, plastic, canvas, vinyl, leather, suede, leatherette, nylon, silk, cotton, for upholstery, headliner, string or other knitted forms. Small size gives more control for trimming and detailing

Cut fiber thread off the fiber optic cable neatly when installing connectors. Sailmakers and riggers around the United States use these shears in their daily rigging projects to cut thin ropes, sleeves and tapes. Fiber Optic cable fabricators and installers find the sharp cuts beneficial for terminations.

These shears are ideal to cut materials made from aramid and para-aramid fibers such as Kevlar, Dyneema, Vectran, Technora, Spectra, Dacron and other materials made from fiberglass and carbon fiber in rope, ribbon, thread, tape and fabric form. Its blades are made of high carbon alloy steel from Japan and are infused with Molybdenum and Vanadium (HRC 60~62) through a proprietary manufacturing process to achieve a level of hardness (HV1200) to cut high tech materials. The ergonomically designed ear-shaped grips deliver more power with reduced fatigue and wrist strain – particularly in repetitive cutting. The grips are designed to easily fit in the power portion of the hand to produce cleaner cut with less effort. These shears can be used to cut materials made from carbon fiber, glass fiber, plastic, canvas, vinyl, leather, suede, leatherette, nylon, silk, cotton, for upholstery, headliner, cloth, sheet, filament, string or other knitted forms.

    The 8″ shears

These shears efficiently cut materials made from aramid and para-aramid fibers, such as Kevlar, Dyneema, Vectran, Technora, Spectra, Dacron and other materials made from fiberglass and carbon fiber which ordinary scissors cannot cut. Its blades are made of high carbon alloy steel from Japan and are infused with Molybdenum and Vanadium through a proprietary manufacturing process to harden (HRC 60-62, HCV1200) the cutting blades needed for high-tech materials. The ergonomically designed large grip-ring delivers more power with reduced fatigue and wrist strain. The grips are designed to fit in the power portion of the hand and produces cleaner cut with less effort. One blade is micro-serrated to avoid slippage and the other can be sharpened to extend life. The tang on the blades is long to provide cutting efficiency.

are meant for clean long cuts into sailcloth, rope, canvas, leather, plastic, silk, cotton, nylon and other knitted fabrics. The handles are ambidextrous and comfortable. It is an excellent shear for marine, clothing, electrical, cabling, upholstery, safety, and construction industries.   Sailmakers and riggers around the United States use these shears in their daily projects to cut fabric, thin ropes, sleeves and tapes. Fabricators who use fiberglass and carbon fiber materials have replaced their current shears in favor of these shears.

    Special Features:

    • Micro-serrated blade for gripping materials during cut
    • Sharp blade to shear fabric easily
    • Non-serrated blade can be sharpened to extend life
    • Extended tang for durability and efficient force transfer
    • Adjustable pivot point to modify blades tension
    • Thermo-plastic elastomer handles for a comfortable non-slip grip
    • Ambidextrous

    Applications:

    • Marine (high mass fiber weaves, sails, ropes)
    • Electrical (data cables, controls, insulation, felt)
    • Aviation (fiberglass, carbon fiber and composites)
    • Avionics (fiber cable, Kevlar shields)
    • Security (helmets, body armor, ballistic fabric, panels, gloves, jackets)
    • Upholstery (leather, leatherette)
