Description
TENDULKAR fabric has a medium dark shade of cyan-blue with a Pantone matching code of 3005c.
Hypetex® is a 245gsm twill carbon that has good pliability for forming complex contours and it is better at maintaining its fabric stability and less potential stress
Benefits
• Outstanding visual quality for cosmetic parts.
• Excellent fiber alignment and flat weft yarn insertion.
• Ideal for prepreg and infusion processes.
The carbon fiber industry is set for an injection of color following the official launch of Hypetex, the world’s first colored carbon fiber brand.
Hypetex® coloring technologies are optimized for either thermoset or thermoplastic matrix systems, and are mechanically characterized to aid structural optimization. All our materials are quality assured to the highest industry standards.
Hypetex® technologies use water based resins and nano pigments that puts color onto the composite at the point of production, removing the need for expensive paints or coatings. The result is a colorful premium aesthetic part straight from the mold, reducing post processing costs and offering a more environmentally friendly coloring solution.
This VARIABLE TEMP Pre-impregnated carbon fiber reinforcement makes part production efficient and allows for more complex parts to be produced vs standard infusion or vacuum bagging techniques as the epoxy is already in the fabric. This special epoxy blend allows for low temp curing options down to 150° F. This allows for the use of curing in a paint booth as well as using low temp materials for making tools. Higher temperatures are hard on tooling so lower temperatures are preferred if you have the time to wait. The carbon material in the prepreg is our model F-1226 6oz 6k 4HS Weave that has been coated with epoxy. Prepreg is easier to use and allows you to piece sections together to create seams that look clean and professional. To use this material just cut to shape, pull off the plastic liner, place in mold, vacuum bag the material down and ramp up the heat at the desired rate below for proper amount of time and your part is done. The material has a 45% resin/fiber ratio. This material is a double sided tack material meaning that there is resin on both sides of the material. This will allow for better adhesion between layers during the initial layup. To achieve a higher quality class A finish, we have clear surfacing films that are compatible with this resin system. This will allow you to have a resin rich surface.
This product is 50″ wide and sold by the linear yard with a 5 yard minimum purchase required.
Key Features & Benefits
• Cure temperature from 150°F to 250°F
• Service temperature up to 275°F after post cure
• Low CTE and shrinkage
• Work life at 70°F: 21 days
• Storage life at 0°F: 12 months
• Very low VOC content – no added solvents during manufacture
Storage & Out Life
This material should be kept frozen at 0°F. It must be kept sealed in a polythene bag which must not be opened until fully thawed to room temperature. If the material is not fully used, then the material must be resealed in the polythene bag to prevent moisture absorption.
To use this material just cut to shape, pull off the plastic liner, place in mold, vacuum bag the material down and ramp up the heat to the desired cure temperature and your part is done. The material has a 42% resin/fiber ratio. This material is a Single sided tack material meaning that there is resin on one side of the material.

Health and Safety
This material contains epoxy resin which can cause allergic reactions with skin contact and must avoid repeated and prolonged skin contact.
Please refer to the product Safety Data Sheet before using this material. The following precautions must be taken when using epoxy resin prepregs:
• Overalls must be worn.
• Impervious gloves must be worn.
• Curing schedule is meant to be as a guide only and is subject to local conditions.
• To avoid exotherm, particular care must be taken with thick laminates.
• Ramp rates must not exceed 5°F/min during initial cure and 1°F/min during post cure.
Application
Remove material from cold storage until material is properly thawed at room temp. Keep the material wrapped to prevent moisture from condensing on the adhesive. Cut prepreg to the correct size, remove poly film from one side and apply to part or mold. Then remove the backing paper. Continue until the desired number of plies are obtained. When your lay-up is finished, you need to cure the material in a vacuum bag placed inside an oven or autoclave. Compression molding via press is also a proper way to cure this prepreg. Make sure to use appropriate release films, and bagging materials depending on type of cure or heat/pressure applied.
Shipping: This material should be shipped expedited airmail. Due to a short shelf life at room temp we suggest shipping this material via an expedited service such as UPS Overnight, 2-day or 3-day. These are guaranteed services. If these are chosen, we will ship the materials in the beginning of the week to ensure they do not sit in the shipping company warehouse over the weekend. We send the material with insulation and icepacks. It is suggested that you ship with 2-day airmail at a minimum. If you plan to use material within days of arrival or are OK with loosing days of shelf life, you can select any shipping method you would like, however if our minimum suggested shipping method is not chosen, we will not be held responsible for issues with material.
Custom Prepreg Options
We can have almost any of our fabrics pre-impregnated for you. Please email us for more details. We have systems in our PREG3xx series that can cure at various temps from 86° F to 275° F with safe service temps of over 600° F. We can do a max width of 60″ and also offer toughened systems. Lead times are usually 2-3 weeks for custom prepreg. We can do single side or double sided prepreg, vary the resin % in the cloth and vary the tack level of the material. Options are endless.
We take care in shipping our items and we will never fold the fabric. Our fabric is always rolled onto a tube to prevent distortion of the weave.
