Ballistic Spectra 1000 Fabric/Cloth 50" 2.6oz Plain Weave. The material is a ballistic grade spectra 1000. This fabric has a width of 50", 2.6oz and is woven in a tight 45x45 pics/inch plain weave. This material was woven by reputable weavers across the US, and their long lasting presence in the composite industry will ensure you receive a quality material. Thickness .006". Spectra has the advantage of high strength, high abrasion resistance and also it is not affected by UV light.

Spectra is a new material on the leading edge of composite technology.

This material has been scoured to remove any contamination/excess sizing from weaving. It's main purpose is not for lamination with resin, it is intended to be used in its raw soft form. However with proper testing/resins you can use this in a laminate. We have other spectra hybrids which are more tailored for rigid laminates. We take care in shipping our items and we will never fold the fabric. Our fabric is always rolled onto a tube to prevent distortion of the weave.

This item is listed by the linear yard, which is 36" long by the 50" width. If you purchase a qty of 2, you will receive one continuous piece of fabric 72"x50" and so on. We will leave the fabric in one continuous piece.

very interesting material. still have 26yard of 34x34 pic 50"wide. people said all these thin tight weaves can't be of use because of poor wet out. they can be used but not by amatures. in my opinion this 2.6oz might be a tricky center layer between layers of 18x18 pick 1-K carbon for a very light absolute rip proof body panel on the track. I use 630epoxy&115hardener. obviously not a cheep combination! made zylon/spetra/Kevlar ballistic panels for my war buds to plink at the rock quarry, they had fun that day
